The brewery Rød Port was started by Morten Østergaard and Knut Eirik Sandvik. The two primary school teachers started in a cellar after the fire power and now have their own microbrewery a little outside Roskilde. "Red Port brews beer with minimal technology and maximum craft" For the two former handbrewers, there is no doubt: the beer must bear the mark of the brewers having a hold of the beer from start to finish. There is no automated anything and everything is brewed from scratch, with honest raw materials. It was that philosophy that made the two brewers Denmark champions in Håndbryg in 2016 in the Specialty Beer category, with “Ravn Sort”. The brewery is located a little outside Roskilde, close to Dyrskueplads. “Open Port” is held on special days where interested people can stop by and have a look at the process. The brewery Rød Port offers a sensory experience for all beer happy people. Here you need to smell, look at and taste malt, hops and our beer. Both those that you can buy in the stores, but also the beers that we are developing. The beer tasting takes place in our premises at Køgevej 206, 4000 Roskilde and there will therefore be an opportunity to see our test brewery and ask about brewing, but also to hear about our project.
